responses

The Responses API is OpenAI's interface for sending input to a model and getting back its output, including text, tool calls and reasoning. It's the newer way of integrating models into an app, replacing older patterns like the Assistants API, and is only something you'd encounter if you're building with AI rather than just using a chat interface.
